An existing industrial building treated as one integrated system.

The commission began with the building’s existing layout, structure and established internal functions. The design objective was to integrate the architectural measures and building services required for fire safety while preserving the operational logic of the storage facility.

Several disciplines consolidated into one controllable design package.

The design was developed from a survey of the existing condition and the building’s operational scenarios. The architectural drawings provided the common coordination base for both passive and active protection measures.

Architecture and use

Definition and documentation of storage areas, administrative spaces, circulation routes and technical rooms across the ground floor and two partial upper levels.

Escape and compartmentation

Coordination of escape routes, access points, doors with specific performance requirements and compartment boundaries within the existing geometry.

Safety systems

Coordination of detection and alarm, emergency lighting, hydrants, automatic suppression, smoke and heat exhaust, and lightning protection systems.

Integrated documentation

Alignment of reports, drawings, the technical assessment and specialist documents into a coherent package for the approval stage.
